The App Layer Revolution!

Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum's co-founder, argues for a "good social philosophy" at the application layer of Ethereum rather than its infrastructure. In an April 12 Warpcast post, Buterin emphasized that decentralized apps (dApps) require a strong philosophical foundation. He contrasted this with general-purpose programming languages like C++, which remain largely unaffected by creators' beliefs. Highlighting examples, Buterin praised crypto privacy protocol Railgun and social protocol Farcaster for their positive social values. Conversely, he criticized platforms like Pump.fun for lacking this ethos.
