A 71-year-old pensioner, Julian Foulkes, from Gillingham, Kent, plans to sue Kent Police after being wrongfully arrested for a "thought crime" over a social media post warning about antisemitism.
Foulkes was detained after posting in response to an antisemitic incident in Russia, but police misinterpreted it as anti-Jewish. The Free Speech Union supports his legal challenge.
Kent Police have apologized, admitting the arrest was a mistake. Foulkes is now left with symptoms akin to PTSD from the ordeal.
